The Matthews Athletic and Recreation Association (MARA) was founded in 1956 to provide youth in the Matthews area with an organized association for sports and recreation. Located at Arthur Goodman Park, MARA blends strong leadership with a supportive, involved community.

The MARA Colts offer four (4) forms of youth football: Flag, 7v7, GIRLS ONLY Flag Football, and Tackle.
