MARA Tackling Camp

The increased awareness over concussions in football has not only caused many coaches to go back to the drawing board when it comes to teaching safer techniques, it has also kept many kids from trying an awesome sport.  To make the game safer without losing any of the excitement in the process, many leaders in football are going back to their roots….the original roots – RUGBY!

In rugby, players run with the ball, players tackle, and players are tackled.  Rugby players learn from their very first practice how to tackle keeping their head out of contact.  Rugby players learn shoulder first, full wrap, low, leverage tackling.  We will teach you the same technique!   Defensive powerhouses like The Seattle Seahawks, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and a whole host of pro, college, and high school teams have adopted the rugby tackling technique.  In fact, they are bringing in rugby coaches to teach it.  The results are astounding!
