Matthews Athletic & Recreation Association’s (MARA) mission statement is to promote and sponsor athletic and recreation activities for the youth of the community of Matthews, North Carolina and the surrounding communities.

We are a volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit entering into our 67th year of service. MARA believes in the principles of fair play, ethical behavior and the opportunity to ensure every child has an enjoyable recreation outlet and learning experience with the opportunity to reach his/her full potential in a safe and fun way where he or she will learn sportsmanship, integrity, teamwork and responsibility.
