At MARA, we celebrate both the excitement of recreational softball and the lifelong friendships made on our fields, right here in Matthews. Generations of local families have grown up playing ball here, and our community’s support and spirit make us one of the largest softball associations in the region. Whether your child is new to the game or ready to advance, we have a team for every age and skill level.

Our centrally located fields at Arthur Goodman Memorial Park are equipped with softball-specific bullpens, batting cages, brand-new restrooms, and a full-service concession stand. It’s a place for the whole family to enjoy!

For players looking for a competitive edge, our Challenge, All-Star, and Travel programs offer exciting tournament play. These teams give skilled players the chance to grow, compete, and build confidence—all while staying connected to MARA’s supportive community.
Rec Softball
Our recreational fastpitch softball teams are part of CharMeck Girls Softball and bring together Matthews with nearby places like Myers Park, South Charlotte, Weddington, Mint Hill, and Porter Ridge. We have teams available for all age groups and skill levels: 6U, 8U, 10U, 13U, and 18U. With practices and home games at MARA, away games are rarely more than a short drive away.
Affordable and All-Inclusive
Our participation fees are among the most affordable in the area, covering everything from uniforms to field use, insurance, and umpires. Each player receives a full kit with softball pants, jersey, belt, and socks, so they’re ready for action.
