Located in the heart of Matthews, MARA has been home to generations of local softball players. Our fields have seen first hits, big wins, lasting friendships, and unforgettable memories. For athletes seeking an additional challenge, MARA offers Challenge, All-Star, and Travel team opportunities. These programs provide competitive tournament play while keeping players connected to the supportive MARA community they know and love.

Recreational Fastpitch Softball
Our recreational fastpitch softball program participates in CharMeck Girls Softball, connecting Matthews with neighboring communities such as Myers Park, South Charlotte, Weddington, Mint Hill, and Porter Ridge.
We offer recreational teams across all age and skill levels:

Rookies - 1st grade and under

Minors - 2nd & 3rd grades

Majors - 4th & 5th grades

Middle School U (MSU) - 6th, 7th, and 8th grades

High School U (HSU) - 9th - 12th grades (note: athletes must not have graduated high school in order to be eligible)
Practices and home games are held at MARA, and away games are typically just a short drive—making participation convenient for busy families.
