2021 Tackle Football

MARA is one of 14 associations participating in the Pop Warner Little Panthers League in the greater Charlotte area.  

We anticipate practices to begin in August and games to begin in September, as they have in previous seasons.  We are waiting to hear from the Pop Warner regional office as to the particulars surrounding the upcoming season.

There are five age/weight divisions of play:

Tiny-Mites is the youngest level of football that we offer.  Ages range from 5 to 7 years old and weight between 35-80 pounds.

Mitey-Mites are instructional teams for 7-8 year olds weighing 45-105 pounds.

Junior Pee Wees are for 8-9-10 year olds weighing 60-120 pounds. (older/Lighter - Age 11 up to 100lbs)*

Pee Wees are for 9-11 year olds weighting 75-135 pounds (Old/Lighter - Ages 12 up to 115lbs)*

Jr. Varisty is for 10-12 year olds weighing 90-160 pounds (Age 13 up to 140lbs)*

*Jr.Pee Wee, Pee Wee and Jr. Varsity divisions have an older but lighter category for players who are one year older than the maximum age, but who weigh 20 pounds or more less than the maximum weight for the division.

2021 Brian Hales Champions Camp

A 3-day camp aimed at increasing the football IQ of every player who attends.  We will provide hands-on-teaching of football skills.  We are very excited to have the State Champion Head Football Coach of The Butler Bulldogs, Brian Hales, as our host for this event.  The camp is open to all players regardless of where they choose to play football.

Each child in attendance will receive instruction on the position-specific fundamentals of the game of football

Each day will consist of fundamental stations (QB, receiver, running backs, offensive/defensive line, linebacker, & defensive back play and drills)

Day 1 - 630 to 830p, Day 2 - 630 to 830p, Day 3 - 9-11a

BONUS - Every camp attendee receives free entry to Butler Football home games - BONUS

Position Specific Speed, and Conditioning Camp

MARA is launching several multi-day camps that focus on improving you as a player. 

Get sports specific training for speed, coordination, balance, and agility. Speed and technique are two very important elements of success for an athlete.

Participants will do various drills working on acceleration, deceleration and change of direction. There will be a football emphasizes on certain days, focusing on key aspects, such as defense, offense and the kicking game.

It is important to train at a level that is equal to your game intensity to help increase your performance and to minimize injury. Additionally, this training will start at the beginners level and progress of each participant will be tracked.

You can choose any or all the camps - discounts automatically applied for those who enroll in multiple camps!

NEXT GENERATION BASEBALL CAMPS AT MARA
4-day Sessions in June and July - Led by Tomas Cruz and Zach McCory

Relevant instruction to each camper's ability in a fun yet instructional environment. Skill levels will be assessed on day 1 to establish appropriate group level instruction. Trained camp counselors will provide a high level of individual instruction. Lunch and drinks included in registration fee for all campers.

2021 MARA Summer Basketball Camp

MARA and 321 Fundamentals are excited to offer summer basketball training for aspiring middle school and high school players. The camps will focus on:
Individual and team oriented concepts, culminating in full court play. Small groups - camps are limited to 12-18 players to enhance personal instruction with 2 coaches leading each session. Camp are June 1-24 for rising 6-7 graders and July 8-August 3 for rising 8-9 graders.
