MARA Update

Welcome back MARA Families:

"When you mention MARA around the Charlotte area, you will often hear about winning, competitiveness and how seriously we take our baseball and softball.  All of that is probably true, but what this league has always been about are families coming together to play a sport they love and making memories together as part of a bigger MARA family that supports and takes care of each other.  Many things will fade, but we will all remember our child’s first catch, their first hit or even that time they ran to the wrong base in t-ball.  Making those kinds of memories is what MARA is ultimately all about.  MARA has been here for several generations of families making those memories, but unfortunately, we have not been able to do for the last few months.  The park has been silent and there have been more deer and geese than people.  Thankfully, that is now changing.  The park is again filled with the sound of the voices of coaches, players and parents and the distinctive ping of a bat hitting a ball.  This week you will again hear cheers erupting from the fields and while it may not look exactly like it used to, we will again be making memories, the kind of memories that make for a life well lived.  Welcome back to life.  Welcome back to softball and baseball.  Welcome back to MARA.  Now let’s play ball." Kenny Coble, MARA Bat and Ball Chairman and Board Member

Concessions Update:

Please be patient as we reopen Concessions in small steps as we learn and adhere to the new health guidelines. Our staff is learning procedures and we will have a very limited menu this week.

Here's how MARA Concessions is taking action for our staff and our membership. Most of these practices are already in place, but we want to ensure you that MARA concessions is working to keep your safety as our top priority.

  • Continuing food safety standards: We maintain a clean environment in our stands and employ safe food handling practices.
  • Wellness checks: Staff members will receive a wellness check to ensure they are healthy and symptom free.
  • Gloves and handwashing: MARA staff wears gloves at all times when handling food and are washing their hands every hour at a minimum.
  • Sanitizing all high contact areas: We clean and sanitize our stands and high-touch areas using a sanitizer solution validated by the EPA.
  • Social distancing: Members will be separated 6 feet apart using line markers on the pavement.
  • (*Once we start cooking again):
  • Cooking in small batches: Our food is prepared in small batches to ensure freshness and safety.

Thank you for being a part of MARA, we look forward to serving you. Andrea Brock, Concessions Manager

We are excited to be back at the park. As we have continued to stress things will be a little different as we adjust to life with Covid-19. If there is anything that we can do to assist you as we reenter the softball season please do not hesitate to reach out to me or one of our board members for assistance.

Thank you for being a MARA Member,

Anthony Andujar

MARA President 2019-20
