Thank you for your interest in becoming a Buddy for our Bambino program players. Buddies suggested age is 12 years or older and a MARA member is preferred but not necessary.

Registration does not guarantee that you will be a buddy. It depends on the number of player participants that sign up. We will confirm your status in early March. We always need back-up Buddies as well! The number of sessions you can attend will get priority. 

Commitment:

Buddies need to commit to all of the sessions and show up with enthusiasm and in the volunteer t-shirt. The program will consist of 8 Sundays (weather permitting).

When:

Season will begins in early March and ends in May (note: we do not have a session on Easter Sunday). Sessions start at 2:00 pm and last about 60 minutes. Our buddies will help with set-up and clean-up afterwards so it’s approximately a 1.5 hour commitment each Sunday. Arrival is 1:45 pm.

MARA, Arthur Goodman Park, Field #8

Why:

To help kids learn baseball skills and how to play the game along with experiencing the thrill of team play and camaraderie. It is a great way to get involved in the community and it counts as community service hours for school or scout requirements (if needed).

Experience:

No experience necessary – just a positive attitude and a big smile. Mandatory training and a volunteer t-shirt will be provided prior to the start of the program for all volunteers. 

Although Bambino Buddy-Ball is a free program to our participants, MARA is a 501 (C) (3) non-profit organization and any contribution is graciously accepted!
