Welcome to a new season of Softball! 

This spring MARA is sponsoring a Hit-A-Thon to benefit the softball infrastructure at the park.  Last summer the FLEX Softball Teams raised enough money for the new turf floor batting cage on field four.  This was the first major enhancement to softball’s infrastructure in many years. 

The goal for this spring is $40,000 for all softball, this equals just $250 per player as a goal.  We can dramatically update the fields our children use and provide a lasting legacy for years to follow.

This spring we are tackling Field Nine.  100% of the proceeds will benefit softball and all donations are tax deductible.

We will be tackling the following projects:

1)      Straightening the fencing out to make a flattened walking path to the field.

2)      Moving the home plate backstop back approximately 7 feet to make play safer for older players.

3)      Clearing the trees and leveling behind the first base side of the field to allow for more family seating.

4)      A new turf batting cage (matching field four) at field ten.

Any funds raised above the goal will be used to replace the dugouts on field ten.  These dugouts were well loved and need replacing.

The player who raises the most will have the new batting cage on field ten named after them.

The Hit-A-Thon is much like a fun run at school.  Each player will receive 15 pitches, T-Ball players will swing 15 times off the T.  Friends and families can pledge a certain amount for each pitch that is hit.  They can also donate a flat amount. 

It will be a fun afternoon for the kids and families.  And with your help we can make MARA even more beautiful.  The Hit-A-Thon will be held on the afternoon of Sunday March 17 on Fields 4, 9, and 10 at MARA.

At the bottom of each age division, you will see a drop-down menu under ‘All Participants’.  This menu will show the Coaches Last name.  Navigating to each coach’s page will see their player’s name.  Player pages can be shared directly onto social media.
